Services

What drives Hancock Glen as a comprehensive green space and facilities maintenance specialist? It is more than fancy lawn mowers! We’re dedicated to creating, implementing and maintaining superior green standards. From your back yard to retail centers to city park green spaces, Hancock Glen offers proven expertise in functional design and bringing to life your vision of outdoor perfection.

We all are the stewards of our earth. As caretakers of our green spaces, we are responsible for its well-being in positive and pro-active ways. As data on the adverse effects of misused chemicals and fertilizers on the soil and water continues to build, programs such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) have gathered sustainability advocates. Todd Hancock, owner of Hancock Glen, is one of the primary movers behind promoting the concepts and findings of IPM to the general public.

Commercial Lawn and Landscape Maintenance

Hancock Glen, established in 2005, is a family owned business located in Grand Prairie Texas. Our business is to keep your business properties running smoothly, efficiently and looking their best.

You are the reason we exist; and we earn your trust each day. Our goals are the same. We must meet your needs in order for you to use our services. That requires we have fully qualified people in the field; people that know your site requirements, greenery and landscaping needs.

For security and regulatory purposes we perform:

  • Background checks on all employees
  • E-Verify all employees with the Department of Homeland Security

Our employees are:

  • Full-time payrolled employees (we do not hire contractors or temporary staff)
  • Eligible for Workers Compensation
  • Covered under our Insurance General Liability

Professional Licenses are an important part of our business and we have:

  • Irrigation License
  • Pesticide License
  • Floral License

In addition to all the State required education, we participate in several voluntary programs. Hancock Glen is the first Texas landscape company to participate in the EPA Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program and we are partners with EPA WaterSense.

We have consulted and assisted top Fortune 500 companies in developing their environmental stewardship programs and sustainability practices – always without sacrificing the landscape appearance. We have presented seminars and educational programs for key property managers locally and nationally.

How can we help you?

Reputation is important to us, referrals and client longevity are the corner stones of our business. What people say about us is far more important than anything we say about ourselves. Many of our original customers continue to rely on Hancock Glen today.

Residential Lawn Service

Our basic lawn front and back yard, edge walks and drives, line trim around building and fences and beds, and blow drive ways and sidewalks. We also blow off the fence rails, the AC unit, and window sills.

Mowing Day

We work Mondays through Fridays. Our crews are in certain areas on certain days or routes, so you will be assigned a specific day. Rain and Holidays may alter this from time to time.

Lawn Mowing Season

We go by a 38 to 40 week mowing season, starting in the middle of February and ending in the middle of December. In the slower growing time of year, early spring and fall, all lawns are mowed bi-weekly.

Weekly Mowing

We recommend mowing every week for the healthiest lawn. This mowing frequency meets most people budget while allowing us to no remove too much of the grass blade at one time. Every lawn is different but weekly mowing is typically the minimum frequency during the active growing season when a lawn is well watered.

Bi-Weekly Mowing

We discourage biweekly mowing because it does not promote a healthy lawn however, we do offer a Bi-Weekly Mowing.    This schedule is available at $5 more per trip than Weekly Service, because they are harder to schedule, harder on the equipment and produce more clippings that we have to manage. This will typically result in 19 to 20 services per year.

Please be advised that most yards will not look their best (in the growing season) with less than Weekly Service.

Cancellation or skipped mowing request

Hancock Glen uses scheduling software, it is not perfect but it is the best we have found for our industry. Services are pushed to the cloud for the service crew to retrieve. It is not always possible to pull these down once they have loaded. For this reason Cancellations Request must have a two business days for us to assure that the service request is not already loaded to the mobile device the crew uses.

Also note that driving to and from the job site is part of the cost, so turning away the crew when they arrive may incurring a $10.00 charge for drive time and fuel. We understand that life is hectic but if we see a pattern then we will enforce this provision.

Charles C

I would highly recommend Hancock Glen Landscape and Todd Hancock without reservation. He maintained the yard at a house I owned in Grand Prarie that was vacant for several years. His attention to detail was excellent and his willingness to take the time to do the job right was evident in the quality of his work. Unlike several other services, I tried there was no question that the work would be done at the appointed time and done right. If you need someone to take care of your landscape work or have had poor service with other landscape companies give Hancock Glen a call am certain you will be pleased.

Pets and Gate Codes

Please let us know if you have pets in the back yard.  We love pets and would not want to be responsible for one escaping from the yard. Our equipment noise may scare them and cause them flee the area. We can send out pre-service notifications to you email. Please also pick up any toys and dropping prior to our visit.

If you have locks on your gates, please assure we can have access either through sharing the code or by unlocking it. We also can provide a combination lock if you prefer and share the code with you.

Pre-service notification

Our software will send out emails either before or after our service or both. It send out the notice once the “work order” Is pulled up and prior to being sent to the cloud. It does not know the time of day we will arrive nor does it know it the weather changes or something prevents us from being able to complete the service on that particular day.  It simply knows that the work was scheduled and will notify you via email that your lawn service is pending.

Billing

We conveniently bill at the end of each month. Our preferred method is to email the invoices. You can decide how you would like to deliver a check to us. We have an online customer portal to make Electronic payment, and review your account history. You may hand write and mail your check or have your check sent directly from your financial institution. Contact us if you need to make other arrangements.

Our invoices are typically sent at or near the end of the month with payments due by the 15th of the following month. We appreciate prompt payments. Unless we hear from you services maybe interrupted for slow payments. We have expenses in providing the service including but not limited to labor, rent, gas and more. It is a courtesy that we bill at the end of the month, where as many services like cable, and insurance expect you to prepay in advance.

Surcharges – First time customers may expect a surcharge for high grass, general cleanup of debris in the yard such litter, sticks, leaves. Debris can be thrown out of a mower at nearly 200 mph. That can injury someone or break a window. This is particularly hazardous in tall grass where the debris maybe hidden but it could happen on any lawn. We will take care of minor items that happen from time to time but cleaning up a yard is actually a separate service from lawn mowing.

If we continually find excessive amounts of pet droppings may also incur extra charges too. We have to clean and service the under the deck of the mowers, droppings do not magically disappear in the mower.

We take care when mowing but If there is debris left in the lawn that is not easy to see, we cannot be responsible for it. We often see children’s toys, garden hoses, dog toys and such. We will try to move then but the yard should be mower ready when we arrive.

Lawn Maintenance Agreements

We provide a wide of maintenance services some of the most common are trimming hedges, weeding beds, mulch, fertilization, and weed control. We will meet with you and review your lawn, look at your concerns and address any that we may find as well. You have a one stop shop with a sole source of responsibility. We use high quality product, including custom blended fertilizers, while your lawn may not look like a putting green, we will be using products from top suppliers that service that industry.

A service agreement allows us to schedule the service when it should be done, as well as maintain it throughout the year. While you can request any of these services without an agreement, it frequently is not at the best time to provide those services. We will even break the cost into equal monthly payments so your budget is protected. It is important to note under these lawn maintenance agreements, some months we will do more work that what you pay and in some months we will do less, that the cost is based upon a package price, the work is done when it is needed and the monthly cost is predictable.

Full Service

We have clients that have been with Hancock Glen since we started. We do not have anything more than a verbal agreement – what services they want,  Mowing, Hedges, trimming roses, bed maintenance, fertilization and weed control. We have an understanding on prices, and we simply do it as it is needed. We are also fine with that scenario as well. Some of these arrangements did not happen overnight, they often start with a customer asking us to provide the service from time to time and after a while we ask if they would like us to add it to our service software as a particular frequency so it is handled in a timely fashion. It is a pay as you go, you can add services as you see fit.

Commercial Customers

The service area for commercial customers is much wider than we provide for Residential Clients. We provide a wider range of services for Commercial and Clients. We are fully insured with top rated insurance to meet the needs of most any Commercial or Municipal customer.
